A Research Assistant is required

to work in the Centre for Operational Research and Applied Statistics of the University of Salford (UK) on an EPSRC sponsored project in the area of statistical demand forecasting and stock control.
The project will look at how to improve the forecasting performance of short-term seasonal demand by examining different approaches, especially the shrinkage and grouping approaches. It is a simulation intensive investigation and it requires experience of mathematical modelling for inventory management (forecasting and stock control) problems. Salary for the post is £27,183 to £28,839.
