Inventories are the most serious things on earth…

A couple of days ago we sadly wrote about the loss of our friend, D. Clay Whybark, who among other things was ISIR President between 2000 and 2002. During his presidency we celebrated the 20th anniversary of ISIR and on this occasion he initiated publishing a booklet on inventory jokes and stories. We believe that this piece appropriately commemorates Clay’s inexhaustible humour and affinity for fun, because of which it was always so enjoyable being around him.

“Inventories, the most serious things on earth are the subject of this small volume. The items were collected from ISIR members, their friends and relations, at the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the society. We would like to thank all the contributors that they helped us to provide an opportunity of a few minutes of laughter to our members, in order to refresh them before they return to their work with the most serious things on earth: inventories.”
