20th International Symposium on Inventories

20-24 August 2018 – Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget, Budapest, Hungary

The International Society for Inventory Research (ISIR) organizes its 20th International Symposium on Inventories, the only scholarly forum in the world focusing directly on inventories in August 2018.

The deadline for submitting abstracts and apply for bursary (available for participants arriving from non-European countries) is 31 March, 2018.

Call for Hosting the 2019 ISIR Summer School

The International Society for Inventory Research (ISIR) invites institutions/universities to host an ISIR Summer School in the non-symposium (every odd) years. The objective of the summer school is to provide an opportunity for PhD students to present their research work and discuss various aspects of it with fellow students and senior researchers.

Report on the 2018 ASSA meeting

The ISIR sponsored a session at the 2018 meetings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, organized by Felipe Schwartzman (San Francisco Fed) and Thomas Winberry (Chicago-Booth), and entitled “Aggregate Shocks and Investment Dynamics: Lessons From the Micro Data.” .

New Industry Projects on Inventory Forecasting

Panalpina Centre for Manufacturing and Logistics Research. Cardiff Business School has partnered with Yeo Valley, the largest organic dairy producer in the UK, on a project to streamline the company’s forecasting, planning and replenishment systems. The £220,000 two-year collaborative project is being led by Dr Laura Purvis, Professor Stephen Disney and Professor Aris Syntetos, from the School’s Logistics and Operations Management section. This new project and partnership enables the School and Yeo Valley to conduct research into flexible and resilient operations and supply chain management strategies.
